Karwar: A man was found hanging from a tree near the railway track in Murudeshwar on Sunday night, police said on Monday.
The deceased, later identified as Prasad Chandrakant Koli (28) is a resident of Gokak in Belagavi district.
A local resident who came across the scene told police that around 11 pm, while walking and talking on his phone, he noticed the body hanging from a cashew tree with a nylon rope near the railway station premises.
Based on his complaint, the police have registered a case of Unnatural Death has been registered.
