180 Stranded Karnataka Tourists Ferried to Bengaluru from Kashmir

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid his last respects to Manjunath and Bharat Bhusan in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: As many as 180 stranded tourists in Jammu and Kashmir returned to Bengaluru via flights under the supervision of Minister of Labour Santosh Lad who was rushed to the ground by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after terror attacks in Pahalgam on Tuesday.

Lad said before I reached Jammu and Sports Commissioner R. Chethan had gathered information of Kannadigas stranded in Jammu and Kashmir. Identification of dead persons was a challenge and later after post-mortem the bodies were transported to Bengaluru.

After bodies were dispatched, Lad said he and officers visited the stranded tourists in various lodges and arranged for flights to reach Bengaluru. Though the tourists are safe, the Minister said “It is a bad incident and one of the horrific incidents. It has created fear among the tourists and it will take time for them to get out of fear.”

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid his last respects to Manjunath and Bharat Bhusan in Bengaluru after their bodies arrived from Jammu and Kashmir. He consoled the bereaved family members.
