PG doctors who break the bond by not joining service will have to pay the government ₹20 lakh as also wages they have received from the government

VIJAYAWADA: Health director Dr. K. Padmavathi on Friday warned government doctors who have completed their PG course under in-service quota but have not joined government service as per bond.

In a statement, the health director pointed out that at the time of joining the PG course under in-service quota, doctors had signed a bond to serve the government for five years.

She said PG doctors who break the bond by not joining service will have to pay the government ₹20 lakh as also wages they have received from the government.

Dr. Padmavathi asked civil assistant surgeons, who have received show-cause notices, to respond by June 15. Otherwise, action will be initiated against them as per norms.

She said details of doctors who have been served show-cause notices are available on dme.ap.nic.in, cfw.ap.nic.in, and hmfw.ap.gov.in.
