Zero Poverty P4: CM Naidu to head state-level society

Naidu told the officials to see to it that all the district collectors, ministers and MLAs identified the 'Margadarsis' (Pioneers) and adopted the 'Bangaru Kutumbams' (golden families)

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said the state government has expedited efforts to establish a robust system for the 'Zero Poverty-P4' initiative aimed at eradicating poverty.

Naidu announced that a state-level society would be formed with the CM as its chairperson and the deputy CM as vice chairperson. The society would also have roles for a CEO, directors, along with specialized teams such as a call centre, a tech team, a programme team and a wing team.

Holding a review meeting at the state secretariat on the progress of P4 and on the formation of the society, Naidu said, “For the district chapter of the society, the district incharge minister will be the chairperson. At the constituency-level, the local MLA will head it. At the village, ward-level secretariat chapters, the local panchayat secretary and ward administrative heads will be the chairpersons.”

Naidu told the officials to see to it that all the district collectors, ministers and MLAs identified the 'Margadarsis' (Pioneers) and adopted the 'Bangaru Kutumbams' (golden families).

“There will be transparency if details like who the donors are, how much each of them have contributed and how much more is needed for these Bangaru Kutumbams are clearly stated. This will further increase the confidence in P4,” he said.

The officials informed the CM that the registration of Margadarsis and Bangaru Kutumbams was taken up to meet the objective of the state government -- that at least five lakh Bangaru Families should be adopted by August 15. “For this purpose organisations like Milap, Donatecart and Rangde are becoming partners in P4,” they told the CM.

“P4 has been designed to allow donors adopt families, mandals and villages, besides providing the funds, they said. Donors have been provided with an opportunity to extend the financial assistance through online too to those they want to help. The entire process for the donors begins when they log into the P4 platform, they said.

The CM asked the officials to complete the whole process by August and see to it that it was implemented immediately. By next Ugadi, an annual progress report should be released on what has been achieved through the P4 programme during this year, he told the officials.
