Anantapur: District Police have registered a case against YSRCP leader Kethireddy Peddareddy following a complaint by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) that he was making insinuating remarks.

The development comes as the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has announced the schedule for polls to 87 municipalities and nagar panchayats and 13 municipal corporations.

The complaint was filed by TDP leader Haji Basha, who accused Peddareddy of making provocative statements during this sensitive phase. They alleged that he was trying to stir up clashes to gain political mileage. Acting on the complaint, police booked a case against the former legislator.
The nomination process for the AP Local Body Elections began today, and leaders from the ruling alliance of TDP, Jana Sena and BJP, as well as the YSRCP, have started filing papers across districts.
