YSRC Will Fight Local Body Polls To Win: Kakani
Former minister calls for unity, village-level reviews and a clear election strategy
Nellore: YSRC senior leader and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has called on party leaders and cadres to work with a clear strategy in the forthcoming local body elections.
Addressing party workers at Viruvuru village in Podalakuru mandal on Tuesday, Govardhan Reddy said MPTC, ZPTC, panchayat, ward member and municipal elections should be taken seriously. Village-level reviews would be conducted, and an action plan prepared based on suggestions from party leaders and cadre, he said.
Govardhan Reddy said the party would fight the elections irrespective of the outcome and urged cadres to remain united. He also claimed that the election schedule could be announced soon.
Govardhan Reddy criticised the TD-led coalition government over the implementation of welfare promises, roads and other development issues. He also alleged that YSRC supporters were being threatened and assured party cadre that he would remain available to protect their interests during the election process.
He urged the party cadre to begin campaigning actively from Wednesday and work towards victory in the local body elections.
