YSRC Slams NDA Coalition Saying Liquor Case A Witch-Hunt
The YSRC leaders accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of orchestrating what they termed “vendetta politics” by abusing state institutions to target opposition leaders

VIJAYAWADA: Opposition YSR Congress has condemned the arrest of Lok Sabha member P.V. Midhun Reddy, calling it a politically motivated act in the guise of a fabricated liquor scam formulated by the NDA coalition government to divert public attention from its failures in keeping its promises made to people.
The YSRC leaders accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of orchestrating what they termed “vendetta politics” by abusing state institutions to target opposition leaders. Addressing media in Guntur, several YSRC leaders, including the party’s Guntur district president Ambati Rambabu said the liquor scam has been manufactured by the TD-led coalition to harass YSRC leaders and undermine the party’s growing public support.
Rambabu maintained that the liquor policy under YSRC had been fully transparent and received appreciation even from national regulatory bodies. He accused the current state government of relying on false confessions and stories planted in yellow media to push its agenda.
Former minister and PAC member Anil Kumar Yadav asserted that the government had no evidence of any actual scam. It is only trying to discredit Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy through illegal arrests. He said Midhun Reddy and his family had no role in the then YSRC’s liquor policy. They are being targeted only because of their close association with YSRC.
YSRC Doctors’ wing president and former minister Dr. Seediri Appalaraju called the liquor scam a government-manufactured narrative. He pointed out that the SIT investigation is based on media trials and coerced statements from officials.
He said the reality is that YSRC’s policy had reduced liquor consumption through closing of belt shops. Appalaraju asked the public to see through the NDA coalition government’s lies, declaring that justice will finally prevail.
