YSRC Says Naidu Government Blaming Jagan to Divert People’s Attention from Its Follies

Kakinada: Former minister Ch. Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna, YSRC party’s East Godavari district president, accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his party leaders of diverting attention of people from NDA alliance government’s inability to fulfil its promises.

Speaking to reporters at Rajamahendravaram on Saturday, he charged the CM and his ministers of trying to create misconceptions among people against former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that the latter is involved with liquor mafia. In the process, the ruling dispensation has started intimidating even governments, the YSRC leader alleged.

He pointed out that alliance parties declared in their manifesto that they will close liquor belt shops. But, currently, there are 43,000 belt shops in the state. Likewise is the situation with sand.

The former minister maintained that huge revenues are reaching the state’s treasury through sand and liquor. “When this is the case, why is your government not fulfilling the promises it made to the people,” he asked.

Venu Gopalakrishna questioned Jana Sena president K. Pawan Kalyan, Deputy CM, and Cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh about what they are going to do with reports that exhibitors and distributors may close their theatres in the state. “Government should pay attention to the issue, as the state government has not evolved any proper policy with regard to cinema ticket prices. What are they not rectifying things,” he asked.

The former minister underlined that the alliance parties had launched a vicious campaign against the previous YSRC government saying the state would go bankrupt and it may become another Sri Lanka and others. “What is happening now? The Deputy Chief Minister should open his eyes and take steps for rectifying things in the government,” he remarked.
