YSRC MPs Discuss Parliamentary Reforms with Lok Sabha Speaker

According to the MPs, the speaker responded positively to the proposal and assured them that the suggestion would be examined

VIJAYAWADA: The YSRC MPs later met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday and held detailed discussions on parliamentary procedures and ways to ensure the smooth and effective conduct of house business.

During the interaction, the Speaker sought the views and suggestions of the YSRC MPs on improving the overall functioning of parliament.

The discussion focused on introducing new methods and practices to facilitate more orderly, efficient and productive proceedings in the Lok Sabha.

The MPs suggested that enhanced coordination among members and stronger institutional support could significantly contribute to improving the quality of debates and legislative work. They underlined the need for mechanisms that would help MPs raise and resolve procedural and administrative issues more effectively.

The YSRC MPs requested the Speaker to consider the establishment of a dedicated helpline to address MP-related issues in a timely manner.

According to the MPs, the speaker responded positively to the proposal and assured them that the suggestion would be examined.

The meeting was attended by YSRC Lok Sabha floor leader P.V. Mithun Reddy, along with MPs Maddila Gurumurthy and G. Thanuja. The YSRC delegation felicitated the Speaker by presenting him with a shawl.
