YSRC Member Booked for Morphed Photo, Derogatory Post Against Lokesh

SP Manikanta warned that anyone using social media to harass, defame or spread provocative content would face strict action

Tirupati: Chittoor I Town Police have registered a case against YSRC member Paleti Krishnaveni for posting a morphed photo and making derogatory comments against minister Nara Lokesh on social media platform ‘X’.

The post, made on Wednesday, included altered images of the minister along with offensive remarks, allegedly aimed at defaming him.

The complaint was filed by Srinivasa Babu, a resident of Chittoor and supporter of Lokesh, who alleged that Krishnaveni misused social media to insult the minister. Acting on the complaint, and under the directions of district superintendent of police V.N. Manikanta Chandolu, Chittoor I Town inspector M. Maheshwara registered the case and initiated investigation.

SP Manikanta warned that anyone using social media to harass, defame or spread provocative content would face strict action. He urged the public to treat social media platforms as tools for awareness and responsible communication, not for spreading hate or misinformation. “Violating rules online will lead to punishment offline”, he said, stressing that the police would continue to monitor and act against misuse of digital platforms.
