YSRC Leaders Warn Of Statewide Stir Over Alleged False Cases

VIJAYAWADA: YSRC leaders have warned of a statewide agitation if police fail to stop allegedly implicating party workers in false cases and making midnight arrests.
Leaders from Krishna and Guntur districts visited the Vijayawada police commissioner’s office and submitted a representation to DCP Saritha here on Saturday, demanding an end to the alleged harassment of those who took part in a protest at the office of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) recently.
They said that if police provided the list of persons named in the cases, they would voluntarily appear at the concerned police stations and submit themselves for arrest. They urged police not to enter homes at midnight and frighten parents and family members.
Later, speaking to the media, the leaders questioned why permission was denied for the protest they wanted to stage while Telugu Desam and Jana Sena were allowed to take out rallies on Bandar Road.
They alleged that nearly 300 persons posing as teachers were allowed inside the SAAP premises carrying stocks and rods and attacked their leaders, unemployed youth and differently abled persons.
They objected to the registration of cases under attempt to murder and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against their leaders and workers. They alleged that photographs, fingerprints and late-night court appearances were being used to intimidate innocent people.
Former ministers Ambati Rambabu and Sake Sailajanath, MLCs Lella Appireddy and several other leaders demanded that the government answer allegations of lapses in the recruitment of teachers through DSC-2025.
