YSRC Flags Breakdown of X-Ray Services at GGH, Seeks Immediate Action
They also underlined the need for regular monitoring of medical equipment and accountability mechanisms to prevent recurrence of such issues.

Vijayawada: A delegation of YSRC leaders on Friday urged the authorities of the Government General Hospital (GGH), Vijayawada, to immediately restore non-functional X-ray services at the Super Specialty Block, citing severe inconvenience to patients, particularly the poor and elderly.
The delegation, led by Dr Ambati Naga Radhakrishna Yadav, chairman of the YSRC NTR district doctors wing, met deputy civil surgeon resident medical officer Dr Manga Devi and submitted a formal representation highlighting the issue.
The leaders expressed concern over the breakdown of X-ray machines, which they said had disrupted essential diagnostic services. As a result, hundreds of patients were facing long waiting times, while many were being compelled to seek services at private diagnostic centres, incurring additional financial burden.
They alleged negligence on the part of maintenance agencies responsible for the upkeep of the equipment. The delegation said vital services should not remain stalled due to lapses in maintenance and demanded that Annual Maintenance Contract holders be held accountable, with strict action including termination if necessary.
The leaders stressed that uninterrupted diagnostic services were crucial in a government hospital catering to economically weaker sections. They urged the authorities to restore all equipment immediately and ensure that patient care standards were not compromised.
They also underlined the need for regular monitoring of medical equipment and accountability mechanisms to prevent recurrence of such issues.
Those present in the delegation included Tangirala Rami Reddy, YSRC state secretary; Gunde Sundar Paul, state joint secretary; Tanubuddi Shekar Reddy, chairman of the NTR district commerce wing; and Badisa Ganesh, president of the NTR district Shalivahana BC wing.
