YSRC Demands Central Forces For Polls

YSRC leader Gorantla Madhav urged the Election Commission and Governor to deploy Central forces and suspend the Kurnool DIG, alleging police bias and intimidation of Opposition candidates.

The YSRC has demanded the deployment of Central forces for the elections and the suspension of the Kurnool DIG, alleging police bias in favour of the ruling coalition.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, former MP Gorantla Madhav alleged that the coalition government was using the police to intimidate YSRC candidates, with the active participation of police personnel.

He urged the Election Commission and the Governor to intervene and seek the deployment of Central forces for election duty. Madhav alleged that the Kurnool DIG was acting in a biased manner and siding with the ruling party. He said the officer should be suspended to ensure free and fair elections.

Madhav alleged that attacks, intimidation and coercion had taken place in Dharmavaram, Kurnool, Punganur and other places, targeting Opposition candidates and their supporters. He accused the police of acting as agents of the ruling party.

He demanded the removal of all erring officials from election duty and reiterated that the polls should be conducted under the protection of Central forces.
