YSRC Candidate’s House Attacked In Proddatur

Unidentified persons allegedly vandalised YSRC candidate Poreddy Narasimha Reddy’s car in Proddatur amid tensions over municipal election nominations.

Unidentified persons allegedly attacked the house of YSRC chairperson candidate Poreddy Narasimha Reddy in Proddatur in the early hours of Monday, smashing the windshields of a car parked on the premises. The assailants reportedly arrived on a Pulsar motorcycle with their faces covered, damaged the vehicle and fled.

The incident comes amid tensions over the municipal election nomination process. On Sunday afternoon, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers allegedly obstructed Narasimha Reddy from filing his nomination, triggering concerns over the election process.

Tension escalated again on Monday afternoon when YSRC workers gathered at the municipal office for scrutiny of nominations. As the situation turned tense, police resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the gathering.

The incidents have heightened political tensions in Proddatur amid allegations of obstruction and attacks during the municipal election process.
