Vijayawada: UK-based Telugu YouTuber A Rama Nandana, who is currently facing allegations of financial and Visa fraud, appeared before the Ibrahimpatnam police on Tuesday again for questioning. During the inquiry, she reportedly told police that she would leave for London if the Lookout Circular issued against her was withdrawn, reiterating the same stance she told them last week during questioning.
Circle Inspector Subrahmanyam and Sub-Inspector Rajulu conducted the questioning from 12 noon to 3 pm. Sources indicate that she failed to give satisfactory answers to most of the questions put to her. It is learnt that she had earlier submitted written responses to some of the questions raised by police.
She reportedly informed the police through her lawyers to interrogate her husband, Jagarlmudi Madhukar, about the financial dealings when he comes to India.
The case stems from a complaint filed by a man named Kranti Kumar with Ibrahimpatnam police, alleging that he was duped under the promise of a Certificate of Sponsorship and Visa renewal through Destiny Consultancy, allegedly owned by the couple. Rama Nandana, who was facing a look-out notice in multiple cheating cases, was detained by immigration officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad on September 7th, and the RGIA police handed her over to the Ibrahimpatnam police of Andhra Pradesh for further action. When the police first questioned her on the 8th of this month, she failed to cooperate with the investigation.
When the police asked about her husband and main accused in the case, Madhukar, as to when he would appear for the inquiry, she replied that he would reach India and do so after her return to her home in London. Following this, police issued her a fresh notice directing her to appear for questioning again on the 16th. On the advice of her lawyers, she sent a request letter to the police and arrived at the station a day early, on Tuesday.
