Youths Assault APSRTC Driver For Refusing To Stop Bus

Three youths allegedly assaulted an APSRTC driver in Annamayya district after he refused to stop at a location without a designated bus stop.

Three youths allegedly assaulted an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus driver after he refused to stop the vehicle at a place without a designated bus stop in Annamayya district.

The incident occurred when an APSRTC bus travelling from Bengaluru to Kadiri entered Annamayya district. The three youths reportedly asked the driver to stop the bus at Maddayyagaripalli. However, the driver refused, as there was no bus stop at the location.

The youths allegedly chased the bus on motorcycles, intercepted it and dragged the driver from his seat. They then punched and brutally assaulted him, questioning why he had refused to stop the bus at the place they had indicated.

The incident has raised concerns, as none of the passengers reportedly intervened to stop the attack while the youths were assaulting the driver. After the assault, the three accused fled the scene on their motorcycles. The injured driver subsequently approached the local police station and lodged a complaint.

Based on his complaint, the Annamayya district police registered a case against the accused, identified as Viswanath, Ramu and Madhu Kumar, and took up an investigation. The video footage of the alleged assault has gone viral on social media, drawing attention to the incident and the safety of public transport employees.
