Yoga Activities Gain Momentum Across Tirupati
TTD and district administration launch extensive yoga programmes across Tirupati district ahead of International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21.

TIRUPATI: Yoga activities gathered momentum across Tirupati district on Sunday as the district administration and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) launched a series of programmes ahead of International Yoga Day on June 21.
As part of the state government's Yogandhra-2026 initiative, yoga sessions are being organised across the district to promote health and wellness among people. Simultaneously, TTD launched its "Yoga-TTD Arogyananda" programme on Sunday, marking the beginning of a two-week campaign.
Addressing a gathering at Mahathi Auditorium, TTD executive officer M. Ravichandra said yoga helps individuals achieve physical fitness, mental peace and self-confidence. He urged all TTD employees to participate regularly in yoga sessions from June 7 to 21 and make the practice a part of their daily lives. He said yoga practice benefits not only employees but also their family members by improving overall health and well-being.
Additional EO Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said yoga was an effective way to manage stress and maintain mental balance in today's fast-paced lifestyle. He said the practice helps improve concentration, emotional stability and physical fitness.
TTD JEO Dr A. Sarath said the TTD would conduct yoga programmes in accordance with standard guidelines and organise yoga competitions for employees on June 18, 19 and 20. He said arrangements are also being made to hold International Yoga Day celebrations at the TTD administrative building parade grounds on June 21.
Earlier in the day, employees, students and staff members participated in yoga sessions at the TTD administrative building, SV Ayurvedic College, SVIMS, BIRRD, and other places. Participants later took out a rally to Mahati Kalakshetram.
Meanwhile, participating in a yoga programme organised by the district tourism department at SV Zoo Park, joint collector R. Govinda Rao said yoga should become a regular part of everyday life. He said yoga programmes would be conducted from June 7 to 21 at secretariats, mandals, divisions and government offices across the district.
A special Yogandhra programme will also be organised at Chandragiri Fort on June 12. He said around 200 master trainers have been prepared to conduct yoga activities and create awareness among the public.
