Yi Amaravati Sets Asia Record With 1.13 Lakh Bamboo Seed Balls
Yi Amaravati entered the Asia Book of Records by preparing 1,13,109 native bamboo seed balls at a single venue in Vijayawada.
CII Young Indians (Yi) Amaravati Chapter has entered the Asia Book of Records for preparing 1,13,109 native bamboo seed balls in a single day at a single venue.
The record-setting exercise was held at P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts & Science in Vijayawada, bringing together students, youth volunteers, Yi members and representatives of partner institutions. The Asia Book of Records adjudicated the attempt and recognised Yi Amaravati as the record holder under the title “Maximum Native Bamboo Seed Balls Prepared by a Youth Organisation”.
The initiative also sought to sensitise students and volunteers to native vegetation, afforestation and community participation in creating a greener and more climate-resilient future. The organisers said preparing all 1,13,109 seed balls at one location in a single day required extensive mobilisation, coordination and volunteer participation.
Young Indians, the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), undertakes programmes covering climate change, accessibility, road safety, health, education, entrepreneurship and community development. Yi Amaravati said the initiative reflected its effort to encourage youth to participate in practical environmental conservation and sustainable development activities.
