Worker Dies in Steel Plant Mishap

Visakhapatnam: A contract worker employed in Steel Melting Shop-1, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has died in a mishap on Monday evening. He was identified as Suresh Singh. Sources said the mishap took place in DF Bay of SMS-1 when a load of iron scrap fell on him after the contact wire snapped. Steel plant police are investing the incident.

Man kills uncle, buries him over illicit affair

Visakhapatnam: A 40-year-old man was allegedly killed and buried by his nephew at Keratam village in Bondapalli mandal in the district. The deceased was identified as Nidigeti Krishna and the accused as Narapati Sai, 24, of the same village. Sources said Sai allegedly had an illicit affair with Krishna’s wife for the last few years. Finding him as an obstacle to his affair, Sai allegedly killed Krishna to continue his relationship with his aunt. According to sources, Narapati Sai, 24, of Visakhapatnam, has been residing in Krishna's house in Keratam in Bondapalli mandal for two years, as he was involved in several criminal cases. Sai's parents had sent him there to reform him. However, he developed an illicit affair with his aunt and Krishna’s wife Raju. After coming to know their illegal affair, Krishna warned Sai several times. Last Saturday, Sai took his uncle Krishna to the outskirts of their village for boozing and an heated argument erupted between them about the affair.

In a fit of rage, Sai smothered him to death using a towel. Later, he informed Krishna's wife Raju about the same and shifted the body to home with the help of their son on a bike. The trio tried to create it as a natural death and completed funeral on Sunday. However, Sai fled from the village after Krishna's close relatives expressed their suspicion about his death. Bondapalli police registered a case of suspicious death, exhumed the body and conducted post-mortem in the presence of revenue officials. Police are searching for Sai.

11 people attack on two persons

Kakinada: Old factions have been unleashed in Bandarulanka village in Amalapuram Rural mandal in Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District. Nearly 11 persons attacked two persons, Illa Satya Gopalakrishna and his grandfather Guthula Babu Rao. The two people were injured seriously.

A dispute occurred in a banana garden and has led to clashes. Receiving the information, Amalapuram Rural circle inspector Prashanth Kumar rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Amalapuram Rural police registered a case. The injured persons were admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
