Women’s ‘Stree Shakti’ Rally In Nellore Hails Govt’s ‘Super Six’ Schemes

Projects worth ₹960 crore initiated between 2014–19 for drinking water and underground drainage in Nellore were stalled under the previous government but have now been revived, with an additional ₹165 crore sanctioned: Minister Narayana

NELLORE: The streets of Nellore witnessed a massive ‘Stree Shakti’ rally on Saturday, with thousands of women raising slogans of “Thank You CM” and “Super Six – Super Hit” in support of the state government’s welfare programmes.

The rally, which began at Gandhi Bomma Centre and concluded at Pappula Veedhi, saw women carrying placards highlighting the six flagship schemes—enhanced pensions, Talli Ki Vandhanam cash transfers to mothers, increased Annadata Sukhibhava support for farmers, free annual distribution of three LPG cylinders per household, Stree Shakti free bus travel for women, and large-scale teacher recruitment through the Mega DSC.

Minister P. Narayana, who participated along with his wife Ponguru Ramadevi, said an unprecedented number of women joined the rally, far exceeding the initial estimate of 5,000. Leaders from TD, BJP, Jana Sena, women corporators, and former municipal chairperson T. Anuradha also took part.

Women leaders praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for implementing the promises despite financial constraints, contrasting his approach with the previous YSRCP regime, which they accused of leaving the state in debt and delaying civic works.

Ramadevi hailed the Super Six as a “super hit,” while Anuradha said the successful rollout silenced critics who had doubted the availability of funds.

Minister Narayana noted that projects worth ₹960 crore initiated between 2014–19 for drinking water and underground drainage in Nellore were stalled under the previous government but have now been revived, with an additional ₹165 crore sanctioned.

He assured that the water supply project would be completed by December and the drainage works within a year.

Calling the massive women’s turnout a testament to public trust, Narayana said the government had proven its sincerity by implementing the Super Six schemes despite inheriting ₹10 lakh crore debt.
