Women Groups Prepare Natural Pest Control, Nutrients

Training programmes are being conducted for farmers on the preparation and use of the solution, which is gaining popularity, especially in areas practising natural farming.

Visakhapatnam: A group of 52 women from five self-help groups prepared 400 litres of extract from crown flower (Jilledu) under the National Mission on Organic Farming at Singannabandha village in Bheemili mandal of Visakhapatnam district on Saturday.

The Jilledu solution, a natural liquid prepared from crown flower leaves, is widely used in organic farming to correct micronutrient deficiencies in crops and to control sap-sucking insects and other pests. It is particularly effective in crops such as rice, cotton and banana, while also providing essential nutrients to plants. The solution serves as a natural alternative to chemical fertilisers.

Training programmes are being conducted for farmers on the preparation and use of the solution, which is gaining popularity, especially in areas practising natural farming.

Additional district project manager of Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming Shyamala attended the programme and explained the benefits of natural farming and the uses of the Jilledu solution.
