Woman Stripped, Assaulted Over Water Dispute in Guntur
Nagarampalem Circle Inspector Satyanarayana said the victim lodged a complaint on July 16, following which a case was registered against nine persons, including Mallela Venkataramana Murthy. Police are investigating the incident.

Guntur: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly stripped and assaulted during a dispute over a drinking water motor connection in Guntur.
The incident took place on the night of July 15 in Krishnababu Colony. According to reports, the woman was filling a vessel with water from a tap connected to a motor installed in front of her house when an argument broke out.
Police said 21st Division TDP secretary Mallela Venkataramana Murthy and his family members allegedly attacked the woman. As she tried to run inside her house, a transgender person, identified as Madhavi, allegedly stripped her and assaulted her by kicking and stomping on her. The woman reportedly pleaded with them, but they allegedly continued the assault.

Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh expressed shock and outrage over the incident. He said that anyone who believes political connections or party affiliation can shield them from the law is gravely mistaken.
