Woman Posing as DSP Swindles ₹40.50 Lakh

Sources said Ranganaikulu, a close aide of Saraswati of Alamur in the Anantapur Rural area, had introduced the latter as DSP of Disha to one Rama Naidu.

Anantapur:A woman pretending to be a DSP took a hand loan of ₹40.50 lakh from a man, who lodged a complaint with Anantapur Rural police lodged when the woman did not repay him the amount. Sources said Ranganaikulu, a close aide of Saraswati of Alamur in the Anantapur Rural area, had introduced the latter as DSP of Disha to one Rama Naidu.

There had been regular contact between Rama Naidu and Saraswati for several years. Three years ago, Saraswati took hand loans from Rama Naidu totalling to ₹40.50 lakh in the name of meeting the hospital expenses of her family members.

Rama Naidu parted with the money after collecting promissory notes from Saraswati. However, when she failed to repay the loan over the past three years, Rama Naidu made inquiries. He realised that Saraswati did not work with the police department. Realising that he has been cheated, Rama Naidu lodged a complaint with the Anantapur Rural police, who have started investigations.
