Woman Passenger Killed Under RTC Bus In East Godavari District

Dhana Lakshmi fell under the rear tyres of the bus and dying on the spot.

A woman passenger Bhavana Dhana Lakshmi (50) of Sriramapuram village in Rajanagaram mandal of East Godavari district got killed on Sunday when she came under the wheels of the RTC bus from which she had alighted.

According to Samalkot police, Dhana Lakshmi had boarded the RTC bus going from Peddipalem to Kakinada at Vadlamuru village on her way to Rajanagaram. She got down from the bus at the Peddipalem stop in Samalkot. The RTC bus driver immediately speeded up, resulting in Dhana Lakshmi falling under the rear tyres of the bus and dying on the spot.
On knowing about the incident, Kakinada depot in-charge manager G.V. Ramana and assistant manager T. Balakrishna reached Samalkot for an inquiry. Police shifted Dhana Lakshmi’s body to the Area Hospital in Peddapuram.



Samalkot Police Have Registered A Case And Are Investigating.


Relatives of the deceased gathered at the Samalkot Bus Stand and started protesting, demanding action against the bus driver for rash driving. Samalkot police rushed to the spot and held discussions with relatives of the deceased woman. They pointed out that a case has been registered and action will be taken soon after an inquiry report is filed.


Pastor Arrested On Charges Of Raping Minor Girl

Tadikalapudi police arrested church pastor Ch. Rambabu in Tadikalapudi on charges of repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl and threatening her against revealing the abuse.
Following a complaint, police registered a case against the pastor under Pocso Act.
Tadikalapudi sub-inspector S. Valli Padma said the accused was produced before the Chintalapudi court, which remanded him to judicial custody. Police said further investigation was underway.

Man Kills Son Over Family Feud

Attili police arrested Koyyani Ganesh, 43, of Eeduru village in Attili mandal on Saturday night for allegedly murdering his son, K. Samuel Raju alias Sunny, with scissors on May 8.

Based on a complaint lodged by K. Seshaveni, Attili police registered a case.

West Godavari SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi said family disputes had led to the murder. He said the accused was produced before the court on Sunday.

The SP said the investigation team had collected scientific evidence in the case and appreciated Attili sub-inspector K.N. Viswanath, Iragavaram SI J. Satish and other personnel for the swift investigation.
