Woman, Lover Get Life Term for Husband’s Murder

Nellore: A Gudur court sentenced a woman and her lover to life imprisonment for murdering her husband in Sullurupeta in 2023.
VII Additional District and Sessions Judge K. Venkata Naga Pavan also imposed a fine of ₹15,000 each on the convicts.
The convicts were identified as Nellore Chitra, 26, and Tonda Krishnamurthy, 25, of Pamulamitta village in Tada mandal.
According to police, Chitra and Krishnamurthy were in a relationship and allegedly conspired to eliminate her husband, Jagadeesh, whom they considered an obstacle.
On October 14, 2023, Krishnamurthy allegedly took Jagadeesh on a motorcycle to the fields near Mannarpoluru crossroads.
After consuming liquor, he allegedly attacked Jagadeesh’s throat with a sharp blade.
Though Jagadeesh reportedly managed to reach the road, he succumbed to his injuries.
Sullurupeta police registered a case and arrested the accused.
Police said sustained trial monitoring and substantial evidence helped establish the prosecution case.
Public Prosecutor K. Vasantha Kumar presented the prosecution’s case.
Tirupati District SP L. Subbarayudu and Naidupeta DSP Chenchubabu appreciated the police personnel involved in securing the conviction.
