Woman Dies as Car Rams into Stationary Lorry in Krishna District

Vijayawada: A 60-year-old woman died and several others sustained injuries after a car rammed into a stationary lorry on the Vijayawada-Machilipatnam highway near Pamarru in Krishna district on Sunday morning.

According to police, a family from Jaggayyapeta was travelling to Mopidevi in a car when the accident occurred near the Gudivada flyover at Pamarru. The car hit a stationary lorry from behind.

The woman, identified as Orusu Chinna Tirupatamma (60), died on the spot, while the other occupants sustained minor injuries.

Passersby noticed the injured and shifted them to a hospital for treatment. Police reached the spot and registered a case. An investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
