Woman Beaten to Death by Husband in Chilakaluripeta

Vijayawada: A man allegedly murdered his wife suspecting her character at Veluru village in Chilakaluripeta rural mandal of Palnadu district in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to the Chilakaluripeta Rural police, the accused, A. Soloman Raj, attacked his wife Pushpa (37) with a pestle while she was asleep at their residence in the early hours of December 30. She was immediately shifted to a government hospital in Guntur for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries later the same day. Police have registered a case and an investigation is under way.
