Supreme Court Clears Way for Ramalayam Construction in Akividu

However, the court observed that a fresh petition may be filed if there are any valid objections to the project.

Vijayawada: The Supreme Court has given the green signal for the construction of the Ramalayam in Pedapeta of Akividu, West Godavari district, by upholding the District Collector's No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the project on Monday.

The apex court dismissed the petition challenging the construction of the temple on government land. However, the court observed that a fresh petition may be filed if there are any valid objections to the project.

The Supreme Court noted that records indicate the Ram temple has existed for more than 80 years in that place and observed that there was no legal impediment to the construction of the Ramalayam in Akividu.
