Welfare Without Bias, Progress For All, Says Gottipati

Speaking at Dandu Ramakrishna Reddy High School, the Minister distributed free bicycles to 56 students, noting that such initiatives help reduce school dropouts and promote regular attendance.

Nellore: Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar emphasised that government welfare schemes must reach every eligible beneficiary, regardless of political affiliations. He urged both officials and alliance leaders to take personal responsibility in ensuring transparent and effective implementation. The minister made these remarks during his visit to Korisapadu village in Bapatla district on Tuesday.

Speaking at Dandu Ramakrishna Reddy High School, the Minister distributed free bicycles to 56 students, noting that such initiatives help reduce school dropouts and promote regular attendance. He directed education officials and teachers to increase awareness about road safety and improve attendance rates.

The bicycles were funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions from Sembcorp Energy India Limited. Praising the company’s support, Ravi Kumar announced that 10,000 bicycles would be distributed by December to students from classes 6 to 10 across the Addanki constituency, without any political bias.

He also highlighted the ‘Thalliki Vandhanam’ scheme, under which ₹13,000 is credited to mothers' bank accounts for each eligible child. He cited a noticeable increase in student enrolment in government schools and confirmed that benefits under the gas scheme are also being rolled out.

Ravi Kumar inaugurated an Ayushman Aarogya Mandir hospital, built at a cost of ₹1.66 crore, stating it would enhance healthcare access for the underprivileged. In Ambedkar Nagar, he inaugurated an NTR Sujala Sravanthi water plant, and in Jagjivan Ram Colony, he launched CC roads and side drains worth ₹31 lakh.

As part of the “Good Governance Begins at Home” campaign, he interacted with residents and reviewed the status of welfare schemes. He urged officials to ensure transparency and timely service delivery.

In Korisapadu, 15 motorised tricycles were distributed to persons with disabilities. The Minister noted that a total of 110 differently-abled beneficiaries in the Addanki constituency have received free vehicles so far.

He assured that Korisapadu would be developed with a long-term vision, stating, “We will not look back for the next 20–30 years.” Already, ₹50 lakh has been spent on roads and drains in the SC Colony, 150 electric poles have been installed, rural access roads (donka roads) have been improved, and farm roads developed for the benefit of local farmers.

Ravi Kumar reaffirmed that the TD-led alliance government under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is committed to ensuring inclusive development and delivering welfare without political discrimination.
