A significant meeting took place between prominent Telugu film Producers and Andhra Pradesh Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh on August 11, 2025. The meeting, which began at noon, aimed to discuss ongoing issues in the Telugu film industry and explore ways to support small-budget films. Producers emphasized the need for government support to create a more sustainable environment for the industry's future. "We had a cordial meeting with Minister Kandula Durgesh and we discussed a few issues,’ reveals Bharat Bushan, president of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and member of the 12-member delegation. "We sought subsidies for small films and also plans for industry development. Above all, requested appointments with Deputy Chief Minister and Chief Minister at their convenience, ‘ he adds.

The meeting was attended by notable producers including Ravi Shankar, BVSN Prasad, DVV Danayya, KL Narayana, and others. It is learnt that another meeting will be held on September 2, along with superstars and other key members of the industry. “Of course, big stars will be there along with other key members in our next meeting with Chief Minister Chandrabu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kaylan, and we would like to discuss things threadbare, “ informs Bhushan.

The meeting also touched on the development of the film industry in Andhra Pradesh, including the construction of studios and Nandi Awards. The minister announced plans to hold the Nandi Awards this year, with two to three proposals under consideration. There will be no change to the award's name, according to sources.
