We can build an education system that benefits future generations: Lokesh

Vijayawada: Education minister Nara Lokesh underlined that parents-teachers’ meetings will pave the way for students to have a golden future. “Through this meeting today, the problems of schools will be known. Parents will know how their children are studying. Together, we can achieve a robust educational system that truly benefits our future generations,” he observed.

Addressing the mega parents-teachers meeting at Bapatla Municipal High School on Saturday, Lokesh remarked that he feels as though the Sankranti festival has come early. Reminiscing, the minister observed, “Seeing you all reminds me of my school days. During the parents-teachers’ meetings at my school, my mother would attend, while my father often had no time to come. Now, it is my privilege as minister to shape the future of our children.”
Lokesh underlined that teachers are ones who mould individuals into responsible citizens. “I hold great respect for educators. Our government firmly believes that social change can only be achieved through education, as endorsed by our Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. With the visionary thoughts of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, educational system in Andhra Pradesh will stand as an example for the country," he remarked.
The minister expressed confidence that the mega parents-teachers’ meeting will strengthen the relationship between government schools, teachers, students and parents. He said as mentioned by the Chief Minister, for a system to improve, every individual must improve.
Lokesh pointed out that ensuring a good future for schools would require students, their parents, teaching staff, headmasters, school management committees, alumni, and NGOs working together. He maintained that with this objective, parents-teachers’ meetings are being held state-wide.
The minister raised concerns over drug addiction affecting the youth. He announced the formation of a cabinet sub-committee and task force to combat this issue decisively.
He asserted that under the Chief Minister's directives, all government schools will improve over the next four years and receive a four-star rating.
