We Are Accountable for Your Lands, CM Tells Farmers

CM says government will protect land rights as beneficiaries receive permanent passbooks.

Kurnool: Assuring farmers of long-term security over their land ownership, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday declared that the government would remain accountable for safeguarding their lands.

During his visit to Nandyal district, the Chief Minister said he was delighted to see the happiness in the eyes of women beneficiaries after receiving permanent pattadar passbooks. “Seeing the joy on your faces gives me immense satisfaction. From now on, we are accountable for your lands,” he said while interacting with beneficiaries.

Speaking to one of the beneficiaries, Sushila, the CM noted her overwhelming happiness. An emotional Sushila said, “I have been waiting for this passbook for many years. Today, I feel very happy and relieved. It is like a dream come true for my family.”

Responding to her, the Chief Minister stressed that the government would stand by farmers and ensure complete protection of their land rights.

Another beneficiary, N. Parvati from Gootupalli village in Bethamcherla mandal, expressed her relief over the clearance of lands that were earlier listed under Section 22-A. “I own two acres, but since it was in the prohibited list, we could neither sell it nor fully use it. We faced many problems all these years. Now, we are free from that burden,” she said.

Similarly, N. Maddileti, who received a pattadar passbook for five acres, shared his happiness. “Getting permanent rights over our land is the biggest security for us. There is nothing more important than this for a farmer,” he said.

A large number of male and female beneficiaries were seen smiling and proudly displaying their pattadar passbooks at the meeting. The venue presented a celebratory atmosphere, with farmers repeatedly showing their documents to the district collector and ministers present.

Addressing the gathering, the CM said farmers need no longer fear losing their lands to disputes or legal hurdles. “There is no need to worry anymore about your land going into others’ hands. You can now live with confidence and peace of mind,” he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to protecting ownership rights.

It may be recalled that pattadar passbooks were also distributed in the Done constituency two months ago. This marks the second such distribution programme in Nandyal district, reflecting the government’s continued focus on resolving long-pending land issues.
