Vontimitta Mandal VRO In ACB Net

Sources said Chintakunta Raja Reddy and his cousin dug two bore wells in their agricultural lands located at Konarajupalle village.

ANANTAPUR: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Kadapa district unit, caught red-handed the village revenue officer (VRO) of Konarajupalle and Mantapampalli villages in Vontimitta mandal while accepting bribe from a farmer to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) on Friday.

Sources said Chintakunta Raja Reddy and his cousin dug two bore wells in their agricultural lands located at Konarajupalle village. They approached VRO Y. Srinivasulu to obtain an NOC to set up electrical transformers at their lands to use the bore wells. Accordingly, they applied for NOCs at the Tahsildar office in Vontimitta mandal.

The VRO initially demanded a bribe of ₹18,000 but reduced it to ₹15,000.

As Raja Reddy had been unwilling to pay the bribe amount, he lodged a complaint with officials of the Kadapa ACB.

Sleuths of the bureau laid a trap and recovered the tainted bribe money of ₹15,000 from the VRO on the premises of the Tahsildar office at Vontimitta.

ACB shifted Srinivasulu to produce him before the ACB Court in Kurnool.
