VMC Chief Stresses Speed, Accuracy in Census Drive
The commissioner conducted field inspections in Seetharampuram, Satyanarayanapuram, Durgapuram, Machavaram and NTR Colony to review the progress of enumeration work

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner H.M. Dhyana Chandra on Sunday stressed the need for both speed and accuracy in the ongoing census exercise across the city.
The commissioner conducted field inspections in Seetharampuram, Satyanarayanapuram, Durgapuram, Machavaram and NTR Colony to review the progress of enumeration work. He assessed the performance of enumerators and supervisors and instructed them to record accurate details without causing inconvenience to residents.
Observing that Sundays offer better opportunities as most residents remain at home, Dhyana Chandra directed census teams to utilise the day effectively and increase household coverage significantly.
He emphasised the need to visit every household and collect complete information meticulously without lapses in the enumeration process. Department heads were asked to closely monitor whether enumerators and supervisors were achieving daily targets and provide guidance wherever necessary.
The commissioner also called for regular reviews to ensure targets are met on time and appealed to citizens to cooperate for the speedy completion of the census exercise.
Additional commissioners Dr D. Chandrasekhar and A. Ravindra Rao, zonal commissioners K. Shammy and K. Prabhudas, besides supervisors and enumerators, participated in the inspection.
