Bhogapuram: Man Tied to Scooter, Dragged Over Rs.11,500 Debt

On Sunday morning, Mahesh, along with his friends Bommidi Venkata Rao, Nammi Govind and Vennu Appa Rao, allegedly tied Rajesh's hands and neck with a rope and dragged him along the road using a scooter.

Vizianagaram: A man was allegedly tied to a scooter, beaten and dragged along the road following a dispute over the payment for a motorcycle in Bhogapuram of Vizianagaram district on Sunday.

According to reports, the victim was identified as Yella Rajesh, a resident of Ramachandrapet. Rajesh had purchased a bike from mechanic shed owner Vennu Mahesh for Rs.11,500. On August 11, Rajesh reportedly took the bike from Mahesh, saying that he would make the payment after checking its condition. However, he allegedly continued using the bike without paying the amount.

On Saturday night, Mahesh and his friend Lenka Sri Ram reportedly caught Rajesh and took him to the mechanic shed, where he was allegedly kept overnight and tortured.

On Sunday morning, Mahesh, along with his friends Bommidi Venkata Rao, Nammi Govind and Vennu Appa Rao, allegedly tied Rajesh's hands and neck with a rope and dragged him along the road using a scooter.

Superintendent of Police Damodar reached the spot and spoke to the victim. Police subsequently arrested the five accused and registered a case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with other relevant sections.
