Vizag’s Nidhi Claims Triple Gold at Int’l Chess Championship
The championship, held in Goa from July 21 to 31, 2025, witnessed competition among over 100 elite players from more than 20 countries.

Visakhapatnam: The Code Spark 2025, a prestigious national-level hackathon, will be held on August 22 and 23 at KBN College in Vijayawada, in which 300 teams from across India are going to participate. The official poster for the two-day hackathon was unveiled on Thursday by the college secretary and correspondent, Dr T. Srinivas. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Srinivas said the objective of Code Spark is to bring the brightest young minds onto one platform and inspire them to explore innovative pathways that could lead them towards entrepreneurship.
Principal Dr G. Krishnaveni said the hackathon will cover emerging domains such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity and privacy, web and app development, the Internet of Things, blockchain and fintech, data science and analytics, quantum cryptography, and open innovation. Participants will be tasked with building projects that offer creative solutions to pressing challenges in agriculture, healthcare, AI-driven applications, and smart campus automation, among others.
Highlighting the rewards, Krishnaveni said winners will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and branded laptops and tablets, along with special recognitions such as the Social Impact Award, Women in Tech Award, and Young Coders Award.
Dr Krishnaveni added that the response has been overwhelming, with 310 teams already registered and more than 1,000 participants expected from across the country. The college is arranging comprehensive accommodation facilities for all visiting delegates.
Heads of departments, including computer science HoD Ravindra, vice-principals P.L. Ramesh and Dr M. Venkateswara Rao, along with faculty members, were present.
