Vizagite Hands Over 30-Acre D Patta Land to Government

Kadiyala Rajeshwar Rao Hands Over Rs 10 Crore Worth Land to Anakapalli Collector

Visakhapatnam: A resident of Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam and businessman Kadiyala Rajeshwar Rao has handed over 30.46 acres of D patta land worth Rs 10 crore to Anakapalli district collector Vijay Krishnan.

Rajeshwar Rao said the land in Chinna Bhimavaram village, a hamlet of Buchayyapeta mandal in Anakapalli district had been allotted by the government to six individuals in 1984. Later, Gorle Sanyasirao and his family had acquired this land from these individuals through sale deeds registered in 1994 and 1995 at the Chodavaram sub-registrar office.

The businessman purchased the land from Gorle Sanyasirao and his family members in 2022. At the time, he said, intermediaries assured them that this land could be registered in his (Rajeshwar Rao’s) name. He believed this assurance as the land had been registered in the name of the Gorle family, as reflected in the encumbrance certificate issued by the registration department.

Later, when Rajeshwar Rao approached the registration department to register the land in his name, officials informed him that the land is a D Patta land allotted by the government to marginalised individuals. If these individuals sell the land to others, the government has the right to cancel the allotment of such lands, so that they revert back to the government.

The businessman said this caused mental anguish to him owing to a significant financial loss. He then decided to respect the law and himself hand the land back to the government as a responsible citizen.

PSN Raju, Jana Sena leader and a close friend of Rajeshwar Rao, observed that at a time when big shots are encroaching on government lands, the family of Rajeshwar Rao has returned 30 acres of land to the government, which undoubtedly serves as an inspiration for a change in society.
