Vizag MP Criticises YSRC Leaders Over Development Projects

MP says leaders who opposed projects are now attempting to claim credit for them

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam member of Parliament Mathukumilli Sribharat criticised certain YSRC leaders for allegedly attempting to obstruct development projects in the city and later trying to claim credit for them.

Addressing the media, he said it was unfortunate that leaders who had opposed key initiatives through court cases and other means were now projecting themselves as supporters of the same projects.

Sribharat said the government has been working to attract investments, IT companies and international projects to Visakhapatnam despite resistance from leaders of the previous administration.

He cited projects including the proposed Google Data Centre, Lulu Mall and land allotments for IT companies as initiatives that had faced hurdles. He said the government had nevertheless ensured progress in their implementation.

“People clearly know under whose administration development is taking place and during whose tenure these projects are being implemented. Ultimately, the public will decide who deserves the credit,” he said.

The MP said residents of Visakhapatnam had witnessed stagnation during the previous five years and were now seeing rapid progress under the NDA government.

He said the administration was focused on the city’s welfare and development rather than publicity and added that both the central and state governments were working in coordination to develop Visakhapatnam as a major economic, IT and industrial hub.
