Vizag Food Festival Promises a Feast of North Andhra Cuisine
The food festival, jointly organised by the district tourism department, Hotels and Restaurants Association of Andhra Pradesh, and the Event Manager Associations, will feature more than 30 food stalls offering diverse flavors.

Visakhapatnam: The coastal city of Visakhapatnam is gearing up for a three-day culinary extravaganza as the Vizag food festival is scheduled to be held from September 5 to 7 at MGM Grounds adjacent to Beach Road and The Park Hotel. District collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad announced the festival during a press conference held on Saturday evening.
The festival, jointly organised by the district tourism department, Hotels and Restaurants Association of Andhra Pradesh, and the Event Manager Associations, will feature more than 30 food stalls offering diverse flavors. Visitors can explore traditional North Andhra delicacies, national favorites, international cuisines, and organic food options during the daily sessions from 6 pm to 10 pm.
One of the key attractions of the festival is its accessibility; entry will be entirely free for all visitors. The collector emphasised that the event aims to provide residents of the Visakhapatnam district, people from the north Andhra region, and tourists an opportunity to experience new and authentic flavors.
Adding to the culinary experience, various cultural programmes will be organised throughout the three days to enhance visitor engagement. A special cooking contest for chefs will be conducted. The organisers are expecting 15,000 to 20,000 participants daily. The festival is part of broader tourism initiatives in the city, which recently saw the inauguration of the UH3H helicopter museum. Additional attractions planned include double-decker bus services and the reopening of Yatri Niwas with online booking facilities for tourists. The festival, estimated to cost around ₹ 15 lakh, will be funded through a collaborative approach. The Tourism department will contribute ₹ 5 lakh, with additional support from sponsors and nominal charges collected from stall operators.
