Visakhapatnam: An entire family was wiped in a road mishap that took place near Vepagunta junction under Pendurthi police station in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
They were identified as Ponnada Kantha Rao, 45, his wife Sandhya, 40, and daughter Ponnada Maheswari, 11. Kantha Rao eked out his living as an employee of a medical shop, Sandhya worked as a housekeeper in a private company and daughter was a 5th-grade student of Government High School, Simhachalam.
Police said the incident took place when Kantha Rao was going to Goshala on his motorcycle carrying his wife and daughter. His motorcycle collided with a car coming from the opposite direction resulting in the mishap.
Kantha Rao died on the spot and his wife and daughter were seriously injured and taken to King George Hospital where they died while undergoing treatment.
