Viveka murder case: Four charged following approver Dastagiri's complaint

The Pulivendula police have registered cases related to alleged harassment of Dastagiri in 2023.

Hyderabad: Following a complaint filed by approver Dastagiri in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case, police have filed charges against four individuals. The Pulivendula police have registered cases related to alleged harassment of Dastagiri in 2023.

Those named in the complaint include Dr Chaitanya Reddy, son of murder accused Shivashankar Reddy; Nagaraju, former DSP of Jammalamadugu; Eswaraiah, former CI of Erraguntla; and Prakash, former Kadapa jail superintendent.

Dastagiri was held as a remand prisoner in Kadapa jail from October 2023 to February 2024. During this period, he alleges that DSP Nagaraju and CI Eswaraiah pressured him to support YSR Congress leaders in the case. Dastagiri's complaint further states that Dr Chaitanya Reddy threatened him in November 2023 within the Kadapa jail, demanding he testify against CBI SP Ram Singh. Dastagiri claims that Chaitanya Reddy offered him Rs 20 crore to falsely implicate Ram Singh. He also alleges that jail superintendent Prakash harassed him during his incarceration.
