Nellore: A special darshan—Vishukkani Darshanam—will be held at Sri Swami Ayyappa Devasthanam on April 14 on the occasion of Vishu, the traditional new year celebrated in Kerala and Tamilnadu.

From 5 am onwards, Lord Ayyappa will be adorned in full divine decoration (Sarvalankarana Bhushita), and the temple will be beautifully decorated with seasonal fruits and vegetables. This unique darshan, offered once a year, is considered highly auspicious by devotees.

After the Vishukkani Darshan, the Melshanti (chief priest) will distribute coins from the sanctum sanctorum to devotees, symbolizing the blessings of Lord Ayyappa.

The day’s spiritual schedule includes Maha Ganapathi Homam at 5 am, Usha Pooja (morning ritual) at 7.30 am, Ghee Abhishekam from 10 am and Uchcha Pooja (midday pooja) at 12 noon followed by the distribution of Anna Prasadam.

Evening rituals will include Maha Deeparadhana (Grand Aarti) at 6 pm and Attala Pooja at 8 pm, culminating with the Harivarasanam to mark the conclusion of the Vishukkani celebrations.

Devotees are invited to participate in these spiritually enriching events and receive the divine blessings of Lord Ayyappa, temple committee president G. Seshagiri Rao said.
