Vishu celebrated with Vishukkani Darshanam

The day began with Maha Ganapathi Homam at 5.00 am, followed by Usha Pooja at 7:30 am, special Abhishekam at 10.00 am, and Uchha Pooja at 12 noon, after which Anna Prasadam (free meal distribution) was held for all devotees.

Nellore: The Sri Swami Ayyappa Devasthanam in Nellore on Monday celebrated Kerala New Year, Vishu, with religious fervor. The annual Vishukkani Darshan of Lord Ayyappa began early in the morning. Lord Ayyappa, beautifully decorated with seasonal fruits and vegetables, drew scores of devotees.

The day began with Maha Ganapathi Homam at 5.00 am, followed by Usha Pooja at 7:30 am, special Abhishekam at 10.00 am, and Uchha Pooja at 12 noon, after which Anna Prasadam (free meal distribution) was held for all devotees.

Following the Anna Prasadam, Melshanti (chief priest) distributed sacred coins from the sanctum sanctorum.

In the evening, the rituals continued with Maha Deeparadhana at 6.00 pm, followed by Attala Pooja at 8.00 pm, concluding with the devotional chant of Harivarasanam.

The annual event was organized under the leadership of temple president Gudala Seshagiri Rao, secretary Katthula Venkataratnam, treasurer Gaddam Ratnayya, along with senior officials P.T. Jagannathan, K.G. Shankaran, Kathi Mohan Rao, and B Srikanth Reddy. A large number of devotees attended the event and received the blessings and teertha prasadam of Lord Ayyappa.
