Visakhapatnam: VPA Installs 3 More Air Quality Monitoring Stations
The new stations are covered under a 10-year Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract to ensure long-term operation and maintenance.

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has installed three new Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (CAAQMS) at Akkayyapalem, Pandurangapuram and Malkapuram, taking the total number of stations to six.
The three existing stations are located at the GCB Gate Area, VPA Fire Station Road and R&D Yard Area. The expanded network will provide wider coverage and enable continuous, real-time monitoring of ambient air quality.
The new stations are covered under a 10-year Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract to ensure long-term operation and maintenance.
The network will generate reliable data on pollution levels and trends, help identify pollution hotspots and assess the effectiveness of dust-control and pollution-mitigation measures.
It will also support data-driven environmental management, improve transparency and public awareness, and facilitate coordination with statutory authorities and stakeholders to improve Visakhapatnam’s air quality.
