Visakhapatnam: Residents Protest Over Water Shortage in Vizag

Nearly 1,400 flats and around 6,000 people have been affected by the shortage, with residents reporting a lack of water for drinking, cooking and sanitation.

Visakhapatnam: Hundreds of residents of MVV City in the Yendada-PM Palem area staged a protest at the Yendada water tank office on Saturday night over a water shortage that has persisted for four days.

Nearly 1,400 flats and around 6,000 people have been affected by the shortage, with residents reporting a lack of water for drinking, cooking and sanitation.

Residents said tanker supplies had also failed to meet their requirements. They gathered at the water tank office and staged a dharna, demanding immediate water supply.

The residents demanded that the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) take immediate measures to restore water supply and find a permanent solution to prevent such shortages from recurring.
