Visakhapatnam: KGH Critical Care Block Inaugurated Virtually
The block was built across four floors at an estimated cost of ₹23.75 crore.
Visakhapatnam: A new 50-bed Critical Care Block at King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam, was inaugurated virtually from Vijayawada by Union health and family welfare minister J.P. Nadda, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu naidu and state health minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Saturday.
Built across four floors at an estimated cost of `23.75 crore, the block was formally inaugurated at the hospital premises by MLAs Vamsi Krishna Yadav and Vishnu Kumar Raju, along with NTR Vaidya Seva Trust chairman Seethamraju Sudhakar and BJP leader Parasurama Raju.
Joint collector G. Vidyadhari, KGH superintendent Dr Vani, Andhra Medical College principal Sandhya Rani, KGH administrator Ramana, APMISDC engineers and several doctors attended the event.
MLA Vamsi Krishna Srinivas described the new block as a landmark in KGH’s history and said the medical equipment installed was comparable to that available at some corporate hospitals.
He said the government’s objective was to provide corporate-level healthcare services to poor and middle-class people in North Andhra, with KGH serving as a key provider of quality medical care.
He said further development of the hospital, including phased upgrades to medical equipment and infrastructure, would benefit lakhs of people in the region.
Srinivas thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan for their attention to KGH’s development and said coordinated efforts between the government and public representatives would support the hospital’s modernisation.
He said the government’s goal was to extend advanced healthcare facilities to poor people and make KGH a model institution for equitable medical services in Andhra Pradesh.
