VIP Darshan at Indrakeeladri Suspended on Sunday
The lift route will be used only in emergency situations, the EO said. Devotees visiting the hilltop temple will be required to use the ramp through the Maha Mandapam route to reach the temple.
Vijayawada:The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam has suspended protocol and VIP darshan at Indrakeeladri from 8 am to 3 pm on Sunday, October 4, in view of the expected heavy rush of devotees and ongoing repairs to the ghat road.
Temple executive officer V.K. Seena Naik said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure following a large turnout of devotees during the consecutive holidays, including Gandhi Jayanti on Friday, which resulted in heavy congestion on the temple premises.
Temple authorities will also regulate vehicular movement towards Kanaka Durga Nagar on Sunday. Battery-operated vehicles will be made available primarily for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and mothers with infants.

Seena Naik appealed to senior citizens, persons with disabilities and mothers with infants to plan their visits during less crowded hours. They have been advised to arrive before 8 am or between 3 pm and 5 pm on Sunday.
Temple chairman Borra Radhakrishna (Gandhi) and the EO appealed to devotees to cooperate with the temple authorities in managing the rush and ensuring smooth arrangements.
