Viksit Bharat G RAM G Gram Sabha Organised In Markapuram Mandal

MLA Narayana Reddy pledged to dedicate himself to the region’s development. He said 119 km of cement roads have been constructed in the constituency within the last 18 months

Nellore: Prakasam district collector P. Rajababu, along with area MLA Kandula Narayana Reddy, participated in the “Swachh Sankranti – Viksit Bharat G RAM G Gram Sabha” at Thippayapalem village in Markapuram mandal on Monday.

Following the formation of a new Markapuram district, this is the first constituency-level gram sabha organised by the district administration. Villagers received the collector, MLA and district officials with showers of flowers amid beating of drums.

Speaking on the occasion, the collector said the gram sabha has been organised to explain to the people development works taken up in the village under the VB G RAM G Act.

Rajababu underlined that the government conducts monthly cleanliness programmes with specific themes. The theme of this month’s campaign is “Swachh Sankranti.” He said ensuring personal and environmental cleanliness is the first step towards overall development.

Addressing the villagers, MLA Narayana Reddy pledged to dedicate himself to the region’s development. He said 119 km of cement roads have been constructed in the constituency within the last 18 months. The local government hospital has been upgraded to district-level status.

The legislator said priority is being given to waste management, sanitation and road infrastructure. In addition, the region is being developed as a horticulture hub to enhance farmers’ incomes and local employment. He pointed out that ample land is available in the district for industrial development.

Responding to the MLA’s request, the collector assured that bills will be promptly paid to contractors for supplying drinking water through tankers. Allocations will be made for Gokulam sheds as per demand.

The collector and MLA also visited a photo exhibition showcasing the departmental initiatives.

Those who participated in the programme included in-charge sub-collector Sivarami Reddy, DPO Venkateswara Rao, ZP CEO Chiranjeevi, DWAMA PD Joseph Kumar, sarpanch B. Kumari and other public representatives, and RWS and other officials.
