Vijayawada Region Tops CBSE Exams With 99.60 Per Cent Overall-pass
Out of 17,04,367 registered students, 16,92,794 appeared for the examinations, out of which 14,96,307 passed

Vijayawada: Vijayawada region emerged as the overall topper nationwide in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results released on Tuesday. The region recorded a 99.60 per cent pass rate, followed by Thiruvananthapuram with 99.32 per cent and Chennai 97.39 per cent.
Other notable performers were Bengaluru (95.95), Delhi West (95.37), Delhi East (95.06), Noida (81.29), and Prayagraj (79.53).
The CBSE’s Vijayawada regional office was established as a new region two years ago. It oversees CBSE schools in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Students from these institutions collectively achieved the highest pass percentage nationwide.
Out of 17,04,367 registered students, 16,92,794 appeared for the examinations, out of which 14,96,307 passed. As in previous years, female students outperformed their male counterparts by a significant margin of 5.94 per cent, with girls achieving a 91.64 per cent pass rate compared to 85.70 for boys.
In particular, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in the region has excelled, with institutions like JNV Vennelavalas in Srikakulam district reporting a 100 per cent pass rate in both the Class 10 and 12 examinations. The school reported impressive subject-wise performances with average marks of 86.22 per cent in Telugu, 81.71 per cent in Hindi, and 81.73 per cent in Science for Class 10.
Class 12 students scored an average of 81.09 per cent in English, 79.76 per cent in Chemistry and 79.82 per cent in Computer Science.
CBSE has maintained its policy of not announcing merit lists or awarding divisions to students in order to “discourage unhealthy competition.”
