Vijayawada Railway Station secures five-star 'Eat Right Station' certification

Vijayawada:Vijayawada Railway Station has achieved the prestigious five-star 'Eat Right Station' certification from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for maintaining exemplary food hygiene and safety standards. This makes Vijayawada the fifth station in the South Central Railway (SCR) Zone to earn this honour, following Annavaram, Guntur, Nadikudi, and Hyderabad (Nampally).

The certification process involved rigorous compliance with FSSAI standards, including training food vendors under the FOSTAC programme. Dr M Sowribala, Chief Medical Superintendent, and her team ensured regular monitoring of hygiene, food quality, and waste management practices.

Divisional Railway Manager Narendra A Patil congratulated the team for their efforts and highlighted the importance of the 'Eat Right India' movement in promoting safe and healthy food across the nation.
